Health is the most important treasure in human life and everyone has the right to be healthy. Recent developments in science and technology have increased the demand for highly-qualified nurses in clinical care, teaching and research. In addition, the pandemic also reminded the world how critically valuable nurses are to providing patient care.
As a nursing faculty, we believe in the power and potential of nurses to improve health. With our expert and dynamic academic faculties, we aim to educate nurses who consider to the health problems of our country, can produce solutions, provide qualified care, and have professional and ethical principles.
Istanbul University Faculty of Nursing aims to be among the leading faculties not only in our country but also in the international arena, where ideas are openly expressed, national and international scientific projects are produced.
In addition to your professional development, culture, art and sports activities are also given importance in our faculty. International student exchanges and collaborations are also supported through Erasmus programs.

History
With the decision published in the Official Gazette numbered 30908 on October 4, 2021, Istanbul University Faculty of Nursing was established.
The Faculty of Nursing, which was opened as the 16th among the faculties of Istanbul University, the oldest university in Turkey, started its education life by taking its first students in the 2022-2023 academic year.
Mission
Our mission is to educate nurses who can fulfil their professional roles and responsibilities by using scientific approaches in protecting, developing and maintaining the health of the individual, family and society and who take ethical values into consideration.
Vision
Our vision is to be a nationally and internationally recognised and preferred nursing school that graduate qualified nurses with a scientific and contemporary education approach.

The Aim of the Baccalaureate Program of Istanbul University School of Nursing
1. Our graduates are employed as nurses in preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative areas where they can provide nursing care using a scientific and holistic approach in line with the health care needs of healthy / sick individuals, families and society.
- Indicator of Success: 80% of the graduates are employed as a nurse in the health care field (hospital, ASM, TSM, TRSM, insurance company, school, workplace, etc.) within one year.
- Indicator of Success: the level of satisfaction of the team members or managers they work with or the patients and their relatives with the quality of care provided by 80% of the graduates.
2. Our graduates establish good communication with health team members and caregivers by considering professional ethical principles and values in nursing practices.
- Indicator of Success: The level of satisfaction of the team members they work with and the patients and their relatives they care for regarding the communication of our graduates.
3. Our graduates perform their nursing roles in the fields of education, practice, management and research with the awareness of lifelong learning and continue their professional development.
- Indicator of Success: 10% of graduates continue their graduate education programmes within the first 5 years.
- Indicator of Success: 25% of graduates participate in at least one scientific activity (certificate programme, congress, symposium, etc.) within the first 5 years.

- Works in collaboration with the health care team and other disciplines.
- Uses leadership skills in the management of nursing care.
- Manages nursing care in accordance with laws and regulations.
- Uses a foreign language to follow the information in the field and communicate with foreign colleagues ("European Language Portfolio Global Scale", Level B1).
